MUSIK INTERNATIONAL

AWARD PROMOTION

Musik International is proud to be associated with a wide assortment of musicians and labels of award-winning caliber. Our clients have been nominated for many music industry honors and special recognition from a wide variety of organizations including, but not limited to, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Grammy), Association for Independent Music (Indie), Native American Music Association (Nammy), Coalition of Visionary Retailers (COVR) as well as many trade and consumer magazine honors presented by NAV, CMJ, CDNOW, B&N.com and many, many more.

You may know that we introduced Tangerine Dream to Grammy voters for Miramar, achieving their first Grammy nomination ever, after having released 50 albums over a 20-year career; they have since been repeatedly nominated. In 2001, Musik International had the privilege of helping to spread the word about Paul Winter's JOURNEY WITH THE SUN (Living Music) as a Grammy finalist in the Best World Music category, Winter's first ever nod in that category after 11 nominations and four wins in the New Age and Folk categories. In 2002, Musik International's promotional activities heightened awareness of new Latin/Jazz record company Pimienta so well that the company garnered three Grammy nominations in its first twelve months of existence.

We've also heightened awareness of recordings from labels ranging from artist-owned imprints (Oginali Productions, Clearlight Records, Goddess Productions, more) to large-scale companies (New World Music, Tinder Records, etc.) in many different award settings. As you can imagine, some of these promotions require a "velvet touch" while respecting the award submission guidelines and marketing limitations of the individual organizations involved. Musik International has well established its credentials when it comes to handling sensitive projects in a most effective manner.

In fact, PJ Birosik (owner, Musik International) 1999/2000 co-authored a proposal with Tom Bee of SOAR and NAMA that led to the successful introduction of the first-ever Native American Grammy Award through NARAS in March, 2001. Birosik has served on several NARAS award screening committees and as a judge for countless award categories for many music industry trade organizations and publications. She has volunteered her time and energy frequently to help better define and present certain award categories, so that all musical projects can be best represented and considered for the appropriate honor.

If you've got a recording that deserves special attention, talk to us about how best to increase its recognition value throughout the music industry.
