Musik International's in-house graphic design department has been creating eye-catching, consumer-friendly materials to the highest industry standards for over a decade. In fact, Musik International helped to create those standards through extensive in-store consumer research and industry panel surveys! For example, by surveying over 10,000 music buyers in over 3,000 independent music stores, the Musik International team discovered that record companies could increase sales of their recordings 32-percent by simply including a flattering artist photo on the back of compact discs; eye contact and a personalized presentation triggered increased profits even before the music was heard!
Our marketing research staff has conducted extensive color and style surveys, determining which hues are most appealing to certain demographics. For example, if you want your music to appeal to 72-percent women who are in the 25-45 year age bracket, your best color combinations are turquoise, purple, magenta and white with a small hint of bright yellow. If the recording is targeted towards 18-25 year-old males who are well travelled, then black, red, yellow and green are best. Just like mega-conglomerate advertising agencies that sell millions of product units all over the world, Musik International incorporates the results of detailed and scientifically conducted research projects into every job we do; you may not "see" it, but the results are in there and having a beneficial effect on everyone who views your CD or other print item.
From the most complicated digi-pak compact disc and cassette packaging, 16-page full color product line catalogs to simple black-and-white concert handbills, Musik International can help bring your vision to life. Here are just a few samples of the types of design service available to you:
CD Packaging - From a basic two-sided cardboard slipcase to a sophisticated digipak with glued-in 16-page booklet, Musik International can design your ultimate product packaging. Whether you want a traditional 4/1 or 4/4 four-page slide-in CD booklet or an expanded multi-leaf fold-out presentation to hold all your lyrics, we can come up with an attractive, functional design that will suit your purpose and please your fans. Note - cassette packaging still available.
Sell-Sheets/One-Sheets/Flyers - Normally 8.5-inches by 11-inches, these important presentations are often your least expensive, most effective tool when it comes to introducing your project to a wider audience. Used by distributor sales reps as well as record companies and musicians, they are viewed by a wide assortment of music buyers from retail store managers to talent bookers to club owners to fans.
Catalogs - Whether you want an over-sized 16-page full-color extravaganza or an elegantly streamlined, economical tri-fold brochure, we can do it. Many companies request catalogs that are slightly smaller than a CD booklet so that they can be inserted easily into jewel boxes at the same time as disc assembly occurs.
Postcards - Musik International has perfected postcard presentation, giving the target audience (retail stores, consumers, media, radio, etc.) exactly the most vital information they desire in the most spectacular visual method possible. We have refined and reworked our postcard content template over the years, so that each finished postcard cannot be ignored. In fact, so successful are our postcards that clients tell us they receive many times more than the national average rate of reponse with each mailing, thus heightening awareness and increasing sales potential to levels above that of costly magazine display ads!
Bookmarks - Musik International was the first company in the music industry ever to introduce the concept of customer giveaway bookmarks as a tool to increase record sales. Historically used by publishers to increase interest in new book titles, these 2-inch by 6-inch 4/0 cardboard strips are easily adapted to a music retail environment as they fit snugly next to cash registers, in giveaway racks, on stocking shelves and in record bins. Retailers love them as they can stamp their own store information on the blank reverse side, encouraging customers to return to shop. Music labels love them because they instantly heighten awareness of recordings, and invite potential buyers back to the shop to hear an in-store play demo. Our unique design for these bookmarks maximize their potential, establishing a new fanbase for your music.
Handbills/Bagstuffers - A handbill is a 8.5-inch by 5.5-inch printed piece that can be used to announce a live show, new album or special in-store appearance. Bagstuffers are smaller (think a letter sized sheet divided into four or six pieces) but no less potent a promotional tool. Ranging from black-and-white designs that can be printed and laser cut at your local copy shop to sophisticated four-color pieces that are delivered in bulk to mainstream retail chains to help push a new release, these versatile customer giveaway items come in a variety of styles to suit any marketing plan.
