Yes, we know that most other promotion companies send every record they get to the same list of radio programmers, regardless of musical style or subtle variations within the genre. And we think that's a lazy approach to radio promotion.

Musik International reads over 1,000 radio playlists a week; we talk to over 400 djs and music directors weekly, too. Our radio team knows exactly what styles of music each programmer prefers because we ask them about their listeners likes and dislikes, then give them the CDs which best fit their airplay needs. Taking the time to build solid, long-term relationships with each station enables us to get you the most bang for the buck on each radio demo package mailed out.

Musik International's radio promotion strategy directly impacts sales. For example, our 12-week promotion of ARIA had so much instant impact as well as long-lasting recurrent airplay that it placed at #7 on the Billboard Year End Chart in 1997 AND again in 1998; our 8-week promotion for ARIA 2 resulted in a #7 placement on the Billboard Year End Chart in 2000. How do we know that radio airplay results in immediate sales? Because Soundscan recorded ARIA 2 selling 90 units at Tower, Santa Monica, CA, the weekend after we got the CD added to KCRW. And this is just one example of how solid radio play helps sell records.

The Musik International team can deliver a tightly focused regional radio campaign or blanket national coverage. For example, in Fall 2002, Musik International secured 683 confirmed stations for a leading title on E-Magine Entertainment (home to Slayer, Operatica, etc.). We also worked several smaller promotions (between 30 and 50 radio stations serviced) on behalf of musicians looking to increase their potential value for future record company signings.
